Convention 2009 - Confronting the Crisis: An Economy that Really Works for BC
Date: Monday November 23, 2009 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Every two years, more than 1,000 rank and file trade union members elected from their locals across BC gather in Vancouver to set the direction of the labour movement. This makes the Federation one of the most grassroots, open, democratic civic institutions in the province.
Every other year, nearly 800 gather for a shorter policy convention that goes more deeply into current issues.
This year our regular Policy Convention, the Fifty-Third Convention in our history as a modern Federation, starts at 9:30 am, Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre in Vancouver, BC, and finshes at 5:00pm, Wednesday, November 25, 2009.
