Say No to Prorogue - Local Rally to Protest the Prorogation of Parliament

Date: Saturday January 23, 2010 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Location: MP Randy Kamp’s office at 22720 Lougheed Highway, Maple Ridge.

Since Prime Minister Steven Harper announced that parliament would be prorogued until March this year, there has been a groundswell of opposition. To date the Facebook group “Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament” has over 200,000 members and growing.

Saturday January 23, 2010 has been declared the National Day of Action and many communities across Canada will have events to demand that parliament be reconvened on January 25th.

Citizens in our community will have an opportunity this Saturday to voice their views on the current suspension of parliament and the effects it will have on Canada’s democracy.

This is a non-partisan event and open to all members of our community who would like to have parliament open for business as scheduled.
